Integration & Control

To simplify the use of an audio visual installation that uses a large number of components it is suggested that a control system is used. This enables the presenter to throw away his or her various remote controls and use a single unit to control everything. This can be as simple as a four, six or eight button control unit from  a manufacturer such as Extron that can be easily budgeted for, or a large control processor operating together with a touch panel from manufacturers such as Crestron, AMX, RTI or Netstreams.

The primary reason for purchasing an audio visual control system is to provide simplified, user friendly access to the latest technologies. A well designed AV control system eliminates the need for extensive retraining on equipment and may become a useful tool for even the biggest technophobe.

With a control system you can eliminate the need to manually do all of the following -

  • Dimming the lights
  • Powering the projector or plasma
  • Shutting the blinds
  • Selecting source
  • Selecting transport controls on the DVD / VCR / CD player etc
  • Adjusting master volume

all triggered by a single button enabling you to continue concentrating on your message and also enabling a room to be controlled without the need for constantly returning to a piece of equipment and / or using several various remote controls.

Most control systems from Crestron, Netstreams and RTI consist of a processor (the brains of the system) and a touchpanel (the interface for the system).

There are many different types of processor and Avensys will help you select the one exactly right for your application. Touch panels are available in many sizes from 3.8” to 12” and are fully customisable incorporating your logo and all the functionality you may require in order to allow your message to be heard. Touch panels can be wired (suitable for wall or desk mounting) or wireless if you require a more roaming capability.

Control system manufacturers provide facilities management software that brings all your control networked equipment from every room under one umbrella allowing you to monitor all of your systems. This can used to trouble shoot, give warnings of lamp changes and save money and manpower by switching your equipment off at the required time.

Avensys will undertake an extensive appraisal of your control system requirements and recommend the products that best suit your needs. Our experienced team provide a total project management solution from the initial consultation through design, programming, installation and support even liasing with your lighting and blind manufacturers to ensure every component.
