Interactive Technology

Interactive whiteboard’s are 3 pieces of equipment linked together:

  • A computer - Mac or PC
  • A digital projector
  • A touch-sensitive screen - the interactive whiteboard

This combination of technologies turns the interactive whiteboard into a very large computer screen. With a pointer, or even a finger, the user can write on the board or control computer programs. It is ideal for whole-class teaching and presentations in small to medium sized rooms as it removes the need to have large groups huddled around a single computer screen.

Avensys supply interactive whiteboards from all the main manufacturers including Smart, Polyvision and Promethean and sizes vary from 47” up to 104".

With the advent of Polyvisions ‘Walk and Talk’ system the need to stand in front of a dazzling projector beam has been negated. This system allows the presenter or trainer to move freely about the room whilst still being able to interact with the board using a hand held console.

Due to the popularity of Interactive Whiteboard systems Avensys offer a wide range of projector / whiteboard / installation packages that would be suitable for any small-medium classroom or meeting room.

Interactive Tablets from manufactures such as Smart and Polyvision are a particularly useful tool when large venue projection is used. These tablets can be desk or lectern mounted and allow the user to annotate and highlight
particularly important  sections of a presentation be it Microsoft Excel, Word or PowerPoint  and save them to be
distributed via email or disk afterwards. While the original slide or spreadsheet is being displayed, the presenter using special stylus can write on the tablet which will display via the data projector onto the screen.

Plasma Screen overlays

Avensys supply interactive overlays which will fit over the front of most plasma displays turning a simple screen into a completely interactive touch surface. Unlike an interactive whiteboard there is no requirement for the presenter to be sited between a bright projector source and the screen itself. Other benefits are that as the overlay is placed directly over the surface of the screen there is no need for a re-calibration as there could be with a projection system during a service if the projector was to be moved. Clients also have the benefit of the clearer screen image that plasma brings.
